Reflection

1. Module Learning : At the start of this module, I had doubts in the learning outcome as I believed that I am able to communicate well with others. I realise that there is so much more to just communicating. Through communicating, I am able to reflect and learn more from the other party. Effective communication includes being able to make an impact on others verbally and motivate them to carry out certain actions. Communication skills are also crucial for building social relationships. When people communicate effectively, they are able to understand one another and work together towards a common goal. With the help of Mdm Faz, she shared about her personal experiences as well as delivering the lecture in a comprehensive manner. Us as engineers, being able to deliver technical terms well to the general public requires us to relate to our audiences.   SUBJECT: Introduction Letter Dear Mdm Faz, My name is Renee and I would like to introduce myself to you. I am currently a Year 1 student in Singapore Institute of Technology studying Mechanical Engineering.  The reason that I chose this degree was due to my creative nature. Since we are in a time of rapid social and technological changes, I have to think creatively to challenge myself.  My communication strengths would be being a good listener. This is also the reason that differentiates me from other students. I will listen with an open mind and empathize with people. The ability to listen will allow me to accurately receive and interpret messages.  However, I tend to be overly critical of my own work.
